The Secret of Nimh

1. Who was the director of the film? What other movies has this director produced?

Don Bluth. Anastasia, All Dogs go to heaven, An American Tail, and the land before time.

2 Artistically, what did you like about this film?

I thought the Animation was really good for it not being a Disney film. I was never a fan of this type of animation but all of the backgrounds look superb and the movie looked really well made. Also I loved the way each character had a specific item that showcased their personality.

3. What was Mrs. Brisby's husbands name?

Jonathan Brisby.

2D Final Illustration

Part 1 of Final Illustration

I decided to be a little bit ambitious after my second composition of Batgirl . I chose to do a variation of girls in the city. I drew them with perspective in mind and dynamic poses.  After sketching I went in and cleaned up my line work.

So here's a second version with colors.... It's still not fully complete. I plan on taking the background into maya and making a brick wall background. Then paint over it with this perspective in mind. Also I'm going to touch up some of the girls and their colors.

The Thing

1. Who was the director of the film? What other movies has this director produced?

John Carpenter. Halloween, Escape form New York, Dark Star, the Fog. He also help write on the seventh episode of the second season of Stranger Things.

2 Artistically, what did you like about this film?

This film has a really intense way for bring out special effects. I'm not sure how it's done but for the 80's it's probably one of the most disturbing models I've seen. The imagination as to how the people morphed was out of this world literally. \

3. Who is the thing at the end of the movie ?

It's up inn the air who is. The last person we actually seen physically as the Thing did die. However the way it ended with the two guys not knowing gives the more an open ending.

Luc Besson was the director. He also did Taxi, the Transporter, Taken, and Lucy.

2 Artistically, what did you like about this film?

I love the high contrast in colors. Each main character had a main color that was exaggerated vividly. For instance Leeloo was colored with a electric orange and Diva Plavalaguna was extreme blue. They Actually did this moore for all of the aliens.

3. What actor played the role of Zorg?

Gary Oldman

Alien

1. Who was the director of the film? What other movies has this director produced?

Ridley Scott. The Martian, Blade Runner, Prometheus, and Hannibal.

2 Artistically, what did you like about this film?

First of all, Alien is one of my favorite films! I love the use of color and light throughout the entire movie. There were moments where it went from super bright areas to really dark scenes making it really hard to see the xenomorph. You could tell that they really want to capture the suspense of the alien by doing this. When they got to the unknown planet, the weather and lighting used to make the place look rugged was also really cool. I know that this was made in the 70's but for the time period, the the movement of the baby xenomorph was amazing. Also the animation of the face hugger tail looked realistic.

3. What is the name of Ripley's cat?

Her cat name was Jones (Jonesy).

2D Silhouettes Part 2

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome

1. Who was the director of the film? What other movies has this director produced?

George Miller; He directed Happy Feet, all the other Mad Max, Babe, abd the Twilight Zone Movie.

2 Artistically, what did you like about this film?

I thought this film was wonderful/ There's so many different media references about this movie. I always had an idea but it's nice to actually see the film. But artistically, I thought it was really nice how they did the color scheme of the entire movie. even though there was alot of browns, they filmed it a certain way to make sure that everything didn't blend in with other and get lost.

3. Who runs Bartertown?

I was under the impression that Aunty Entity was at first and then they introduced Master with Blaster. Even though he did control the resources, once his minion was gone he had no power. So all along, Aunty was just putting up with him. She really was the true ruler.

Blade Runner

This Week we watched Blade Runner and have to answer a few questions about the film.
1. Who was the director of the film? What other movies has this director produced?

Ridley Scott is the Director and he also directed one of my all time favorites, Aliens. Along with the Martian, Prometheus, and Gladiator.

2 Artistically, what did you like about this film?

It was my 1st time watching this movie so it was really surprising pulling out the details which clearly inspired some of my favorite films. My all time favorite animated film, Akira definitely shows some similarities to this film. The use of the city scape and lights is just magnificent. Although I  wasn't a supper big fan of the story, Artistically, I appreciate it and it''s existences because it clearly paved a way for what we interpret sci fi to be today.

3. Was Decker a replicant?
I thought he was. I could've sworn they were trying to give the viewers tiny clues to infer this. Unless the blade runner movie cult are just thinking too deep about the movie and the characters.
